We believe the old, proven sources and ways of learning have always done a better job of preparing students for the future than what passes for education in so many of today’s conventional schools.
Sadly, chances are your kid’s local school is modeled on a largely failed, modern industrial approach to learning optimized for cheap labor, not human thriving.
Our students see the world more clearly not because they are smarter but because they stand atop the shoulders of giants.
Give your child a life-changing education. It’s more affordable than you think.
As a traditional Anglican community (see affiliation), we make sure the framework of our life and learning together is grounded in daily prayer and worship.
Our students come from all kinds of homes with different faith backgrounds, but all join in our daily office of sung morning and evening prayer.
This daily rhythm ensures our attitudes and strivings are rightly oriented toward the greater glory of our Creator.
We believe in whole-child preparation for the real world.
Our children are not brains in a jar. They are whole people with active bodies, minds, character, and souls.
St. Andrew’s Academy knows that students learn differently and at different speeds. One of the many advantages of a smaller school is that each child gets the love and attention that best promotes learning and a sense of ability.
Don’t send your child to a learning laboratory or a degree mill. Let them grow up into the whole person that God intended them to be.
Beauty has it’s own quiet way of inspiring natural curiosity and devotion to the truth. It woos the mind forward.
St. Andrew’s Academy, located on Lake Almanor in the Northern California mountains is surrounded by natural beauty as far as the eye can see.
But, our experience of beauty doesn’t stop there.
Our students learn about the “beauty of holiness” found in traditional worship and in our embrace of the arts and the greatest expressions from the past.
Travel, in addition to being enjoyable, has great value in education because it expands the mind and sensibilities as few other things can.
Students at St. Andrew’s take a very affordable international trip every year before Christmas break to countries like Italy, England, Germany, and France.
We also take a spring trip to nearby San Francisco and other must-see Northern California destinations.
On these trips, St. Andrew’s Academy students not only learn about history, art, and culture; they learn about themselves and the wider world of possibilities which awaits them.
Classroom learning is but one way a child grows and gains wisdom.
St. Andrew’s Academy believes all students benefit from participation in physical activity, whether it be with the school’s winning fencing team, hiking club, running, or simply by helping shovel snow in the winter.
The Lake Almanor area itself provides a vigorous environment and high altitude living that strengthens the blood and fills the lungs with fresh mountain air.
There are activities for every type of student at St. Andrew’s.
